Today OBD2TOOL is going to show you an interesting case. That’s how to use Launch X431 V+ Bi-Directional Diagnostic Tool to increase speed limit on a Mercedes E55 2005.
Let’s start it.
Connect DBScarII to OBD port.
Enter diagnosis menu and select “Automatic identification”.
Select “211-E Class(Up To 05/2005)” to get VIN number.
Select
System Selection>>ECM – Engine Control Module(ME)>>Variant Coding
Scroll down to view Speed limit – 230kph
Enter the menu, unfold options we’ll get 250, 280, 300…
We set it at 300kph.
Re-enter to confirm the setting.
Note: I can increase speed limit of my car because my tires are capable of 300.
Then we go back to do “System Scan”.
Here we can view what modules our car is equipped with.

Software Update
The XP400 Pro software can be updated via the key programming tablet and a windows-based computer. This section describes two ways to update the software of the XP400 Pro.
Update via Autel’s Tablet
This function allows you to update the XP400 Pro software via Autel’s IMMO & Key Programming tablet.
1. Connect the XP400 Pro to Autel’s IMMO & Key Programming tablet via the supplied USB cable.
2. Verify the power LED light on the front panel is lit solid green.
3. Tap the “Programmer” application on the tablet’s main screen.
4. The tablet will automatically detect the software version information and download the software update if available.
Update via a Windows PC
This function allows you to update the XP400 Pro software via a Windows PC. The computer must be connected to the Internet to update the software on the XP400 Pro.
1. Connect the XP400 Pro to a PC with the supplied USB cable.
2. Verify the power LED on the front panel is lit solid green.
3. Open the PC software. If a firmware update is available for the XP400 Pro, a message will display to prompt you to update the software. Otherwise, no message displays.
4. After the update is complete, click the “About” button in the lower left corner of the PC software to view the current XP400 Pro firmware, hardware and PC software versions.

PC Communication Error
A communication error occurs if the XP400 Pro fails to communicate with PC. Please do the following to correct the error:

How to update OTOFIX IM1?
Go to “Update” function:
1. Update the “OS” (If available) firstly;
2. Update the “System Programs” and “LibComms” (If available);
3. Update vehicle software.
How to delete vehicle software?
1. Utilities >> ES File Explorer >> Local >> SD >> Scan >> Select car region >> Vehicle >> Long press vehicle file >> Delete;
2. ES File Explorer >> Local >> SD >> Scan >> Download, delete the vehicle file if any;
3. Data Manager >> Apps Uninstall >> Diagnosis/Service >> Long press the vehicle icon >> Click the delete icon on right top corner.
Note: above 3 steps must be taken to have the software deleted completely.
Cautious: Please only delete vehicle software when update for your device haven’t expired!

DESCRIPTION
The microPod is connected to the vehicle, user will then login to Chrysler Micropod II to begin vehicle diagnostics,
the microPod does not come up on the vehicle selection screen.
Tips for troubleshooting microPod connectivity Issues
1. CASE 1: microPod does not power on. Please check to make sure you see lights on the microPod
when you connect the unit to the vehicle.
If there are no lights on the microPod when unit is connected to the DLC/OBD II port on the vehicle, test the microPod on another vehicle(ensure that ignition is in the ON position), if you are still seeing no lights on the microPod, the unit is defective and will need to be replaced.
2. CASE 2: microPod is not flashing in an alternating patter of GREEN and RED.
If the microPod LED is not flashing GREEN and RED that is an indicator that the microPod is not connected to Professional Diagnostic Tool wiTECH 2.0 Cloud. If you see the microPod LED flashing green only, that is an indicator that the device is trying to connect to the network. To resolved this, connect the microPod via USB cable and start the microPod setup utility then check the microPod device manager settings to ensure the wireless network profile is properly configured. If you are still unable to connect, contact your IT administrator for assistance.

3. CASE 3: The microPod is flashing GREEN and RED but will not show on the discovery screen.

Just use IDS v.86 Programmable Module Installation to install and program your replacement PCM. for PCM replace no need 2 keys, if GEM changed, need 2 keys to start the car. BCM / GEM is Immo yes 2 keys but change PCM no 1 Key is just Parameter reset use existing Key.
You will need C80 reprogramming files to change calibration Via PMI but if P/N same just adapt with IDS V86 10 minute time wait in Body / security / parameter reset.

Until now, the ECU’s reprogramming capabilities were integrated in OEM’s specific diagnostic tools. A consumer had to rely on the car manufacturers dealership. Any non franchise dealership would have to invest in obtaining specialised tools (one per brand!) to be able to perform ECU reprogramming. This factor places the freelance dealership in a non competitive position which ultimately will impact a consumers’ freedom of dealership choice.
What is defined in the Passthru specification ?
The protocols which have to be supported by a PASS THRU device in order to be fully compliant are:
– K-Line ISO 9141
– KWP 2000 ISO 14230-4
– SAE J1850 PWM
– SAE J1850 VPW

What do you need to execute a flashing of the ECU’s ?
